I have combination skin (it's dry but I'm always breaking out), I need a good daily face wash, moisturizer, and something that treats the break outs ( usually it's a couple of big white heads on my cheeks and nose...yuck). Please help.
Thanks. It would be nice if they were all cheap and over the counter. |

Honestly, facial products know no skin color. If you must have products specifically for Black skin, Ambi has a good line. If you want something less expensive, use Noxzema! You need the facial soap, toner, and moisturizer. You can buy witch hazel for the toner, it's cheaper. My favorite moisturizer is cocoa butter.

You should try Ambi products. Ambi is made specifically for women of color.
https://www.ambiskincare.com/index.jsp Neutrogena products are amazing. Neutrogena makes great non oily facial moisturizing creams. I use the Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion. Its oil free and it has salicylic acid in it which fights acne. http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_258.asp?lProductLineID=1 For breakouts I use Queen Helen's Mint Julep Masque. Queen Helene makes great products that are very cheap and can be found anywhere. http://www.queenhelene.com//skincaremaskscrub2.php |

Obviously, I'm white, but one of my closest friends is black, and this is what she uses:
First, she uses Clearasil Cleanser (in the shower because the steam opens up pores). Then, she uses Clean and Clear - Morning Glow Lotion (under her makeup). I see a few people suggesting coco butter, but she discovered that it only made her face greasy, and lead to more breakouts. Make sure you use something "oil free". Both are cheap, gentle, and contain no oil, so it helps stop breakouts. |
